| The picture below shows the dovetail socket that I cut in the back in order to mount it on the chuck to finish the top side of the plate Due to the size of this plate after mounting it on the jaws of my chuck, every time I started the lathe I had visions of it flying across the work shop like a frisbe. | |
This plate is made from Sapele its botanical name is "Entandophragma cylindricum" it is one the finest Mahoganies and comes from Africa.
